This is the entrance to the search for an entrance. This is the inquest into Terminal Utopia. We know it exists, this is an indisputable fact. Those who deny this fact are bound to needlessly suffer. The goal is to obtain access to this level and the “conditions” which it is said to create. I am The Interlocutor. I have been empowered to oversee the search for Terminal Utopia. I have a sweeping mandate to inform the direction of the search. However, from where I am situated on Level ## I do not have all the necessary resources or insights at my disposal. This deficit is the reason for these profane communications, broadcast as far and wide across the Backrooms, Frontrooms, and, false idols willing, Baseline Reality. If you are reading this, the search has found you. You are being called upon by forces beyond your comprehension. Engage. Engage. Engage. Engage. Engage. Come in droves. Come in multitudes. Flock to this spectacle. Find vindication.
Embedded in this search is a social scientific researcher from The Journal of Backrooms Studies. For their safety we will call them The Auditor. The search cannot take place without the study and the study cannot take place without the search. The two are inseparable. If you wish to engage in the concerted practice necessary to find Terminal Utopia, you must agree to certain terms and conditions before proceeding. You may come and go as you please. You may quit at any time without consequence.

What is identifying information?
-Your legal name, any usernames used outside of this study, or any aliases connected to you. Names are banned.
-The address of the place you live, the address of the place you work, the address of your family and friends, the address of your enemies, the address of ambivalent others, or any addresses at all. Addresses are banned.
-Personal contact information of yourself or others. This includes but is not limited to phone numbers, email addresses, social media accounts, online profiles, or any other means of reaching yourself or others. Contact information is banned.
Do Not Identify Yourself or Others.
You will be removed from the search and study permanently if you provide identifying information at any point.
3) Do not provide information about illegal activities that anyone under the age of 18 has engaged in, whether about yourself or others. Discussing the illegal activities of minors is banned.
You will be removed from the search and study immediately if you discuss or provide information that includes the illegal activities, real or imagined, of minors.
4) There are Risks to Participation:
You may find some of the content you interact with scary, frightening, unsettling, mildly disturbing, or otherwise upsetting.
You may skip or quit any portion of the study at any time. There are no consequences for not fully viewing all the materials related to any given portion of the study. If at any time you feel like you cannot continue to participate in either a portion of or the entirety of the study, you may close the web page through which you have accessed the study at any time
If you become emotionally distressed and/or have suicidal ideations during any phase of your participation in the search and/or study, we encourage you to reach out to these resources or pre-existing support networks for help.
Some questions or prompts may be upsetting or may cause an emotional response. You can skip any questions or prompts you don’t want to answer.
Cases have been recorded by Necpál and Šoltýsová (2023) of “Functional Movement Disorders in teenagers” triggered by the online phenomenon of “Reality Shifting” including overexposure to The Backrooms. The extent to which the neurological phenomenon observed by Necpál and Šoltýsová is derived from exposure to The Backrooms and related content is indeterminate.
